We only purchase diamonds that have been polished from sources that are members of the professional diamond trade.
Compliance with the Kimberley Process and the U.S. Patriot Act
The United Nations General Assembly established the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) in 2003 to prevent conflict diamonds from entering the diamond market. All KPCS Governments must certify that rough diamonds originate from conflict-free sources. In order to extend the KPCS to polished diamonds, the World Diamond Council established a System of Warranties to ensure that polished diamonds are sourced from conflict-free rough. The sale of polished diamonds in the United States is subject to the Patriot Act and sanctions by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the United States Treasury. Every U.S. dealer must comply with the Kimberley Process or face penalties from Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Treasury.
